Mission and Goals

The Orange County Department of Social Services

Mission Statement: The Orange County Department of Social Services provides temporary help to eligible individuals and families with social service and financial needs in order to assist them with leading safe, healthy and independent lives.

Social Services initiatives and programs are administered under the direction of State and Federal Laws, Regulations and Mandates (Ref. Title 18 of the Codes, Rules and Regulations of the State of New York and Social Services Law, Chapter 55).

Orange County Office for the Aging

The Office for the Aging advocates for and with older adults to secure and provide benefits and services for older adults and their caregivers to maintain maximum independence in the home environment. Office for the Aging develops and implements a comprehensive and coordinated service systems to meet the changing needs of the county's older population.
